The Power Of Your Other Hand: A Course In Chann...

One of the wonderful things about social media is that you can cross-promote content on different channels. Promoting your YouTube videos on your other social channels is the easiest way to grow your audience.

The Power of Your Other Hand: A Course in Chann...

We know that YouTube rewards channels that keep viewers on their pages longer. These longer average watch times mean people are engaged with your content. (You can see how long people stay on your videos by using YouTube analytics). By adding YouTube cards, you can include links to other videos or relevant content at the exact point where users drop off. There are a variety of card types to choose from such as a playlist, poll or donation and you can feature 5 cards per video that appear as a rectangular box or teaser in the right-hand corner of the video. Although users may abandon the video they are watching, they will be directed to your other content and remain on your channel, increasing your ranking.

Cell phones can also be expensive to operate, although there are many different packages available. Your communication power with a cell phone is limited on the water because the other ship you are trying to contact must also have a cell phone. In some areas, you can place a call to the local Coast Guard station by dialing *CG.

And they also help with communications while still on the boat. You can talk to each other from bow to stern, from below to above deck, and more! The range is typically 1-2 miles and is line-of-sight like VHFs and cell phones. They have limited battery power and no emergency channel. They operate in the 460 mHz UHF band between VHF radios and cell phones and transmit at 0.5 watts.

SSBs are commonly available with an output power from 50-150 watts. An SSB's range is affected by the strength of the radiated signal, among other things. The maximum reliable range in the 2-3mHz (MF) band during the day is 50-150 miles. Transmission in HF band can reach thousands of miles.

In Coast Guard jurisdictions, VHFs are monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week. For extra assurance, the USCG and most TowBoatU.S. and Vessel Assist towers can locate your boat by tracking your VHF signal. VHFs are handy in an emergency, but they have other uses: telephone calls to shore, obtaining supplies and services such as marina reservations, and boat operations like drawbridge openings and communicating with commercial and other recreational vessels.

Try to remember that your VHF is not a private telephone. It's more like an old-fashioned party line. Everyone can hear your conversation. Keep the conversation short and to the point as there will be others waiting to use the channel. Also, do not allow children play with the VHF radio.

There is a "procedure" for sending out a distress call, but all you really need to know is to turn your VHF to Channel 16 and high power, key the mike, and say one of the three phrases three times, along with position and situation information.

If you don't get an immediate response keep periodically sending out a Mayday broadcast as long as the radio will function, taking care to give your position with every transmission. If time permits, scan through the other channels and interrupt any radio traffic you hear with your Mayday broadcast. If you don't hear traffic, try transmitting on Coast Guard Channel 22A.

Although not required in recreational boats under 65.5 feet long, a Very High Frequency (VHF) Marine Radio allows instant communication between your boat and other boats, marinas, bridges, and the United States Coast Guard (USCG). It is the primary means of communication on coastal waters and has many characteristics which make it preferable to a cell phone, CB Radio, or other means of communication. Most VHF Marine Radios also have instant access to NOAA weather forecasts, 24 hours a day.

All new radios, and some older ones, have DSC capability. DSC radios are VHF radios, but they have an added benefit of sending an automatic DISTRESS alert (on Channel 70) to the USCG and other nearby DSC and VHF equipped vessels when activated. (Read your manual for specific features of your model.) To take full advantage of the DSC, be sure to obtain a free nine-digit Maritime Mobile Service Identity (MMSI) number and have it programmed into the unit before you transmit. You may obtain a free MMSI by contacting Boat US, SeaTow or the US Power Squadrons. Newer DSC capable radios also allow non-emergency facilitated boat to boat communications.

If you hear a distress message from a vessel and it is not answered, then you must answer. If you are reasonably sure that the distressed vessel is not in your vicinity, you should wait a short time for others to acknowledge.

We also allow you to split your payment across 2 separate credit card transactions or send a payment link email to another person on your behalf. If splitting your payment into 2 transactions, a minimum payment of $350 is required for the first transaction.

On the other hand, if suppliers have lower bargaining power, they will tend to reduce their prices, improve their quality, or give concessions for payments and shipping to attract more customers to them.

Having multiple suppliers might seem like a daunting task. After all, you have to maintain all those suppliers relationships, traveling to meet them, communicating regularly with them and making sure they are receiving adequate amount of business from you. However; doing so will give you the high bargaining power that you will need to keep prices down and increase your profitability.

You might find that after you have spent a lot of time and marketing dollars on introducing a certain product to your market, that other people (including your suppliers) will want to capitalize on this success and take a bigger share of the pie. This could be in the form of directly selling to customers or finding more buyers to carry the product in your area. So this is something you want to keep in mind from the start and act on it at an advanced stage.

Always make sure to maintain the power over your channel, including your branding and marketing efforts. Make sure that customers come to buy from YOU, because they trust that you are sourcing the best products for them. When you have a power to influence the buying decisions of the final consumer, you have a higher bargaining power over suppliers.

Hand-held orange smoke flares emit a large cloud of orange smoke and are more effective than the standard red flares for daytime use. The orange smoke lingers in the air, providing an extended period for other boaters to see your call for help. The smoke will eventually fade out, so it is crucial that you utilize this signal method of when you have a good chance of being spotted by incoming air or vessel traffic.

The second and most commonly known night distress signal is the red flare. Red flares can be found in hand-held devices and in aerial devices that shoot a red flare up into the sky. The hand-held devices last for about 3 minutes and work best when rescue is nearby. Aerial red flares are sent up into the sky using a launching device and can be seen from a great distance. These aerial red flares will burn for about 6 seconds, alerting other boaters about your distress.

If you are faced with a life-threatening emergency, use your VHF marine radio to issue a MAYDAY call on Channel 16 (the distress channel). Be aware that the distance for sending and receiving messages is limited by the height of the antenna and the power of your VHF marine radio. Use the one-watt setting except in an emergency or if your signal is too weak to be received clearly. Here is how to issue a MAYDAY call on Channel 16 of your VHF radio:

You should consider your cell phone as part of your standard boating gear. Keep a list of appropriate phone numbers on board. Just as you would on land, use your cell phone to call 911 or another water rescue authority in your area. Mobile telephones may be useful for contacting local law enforcement agencies. However, they have serious limitations and should not be used as a substitute for a VHF radio. Moreover, cell phones can have service limitations and should not be viewed as your primary device for contacting emergency help.

"Defensively, the Eagles will, of course, have the tall task of trying to neutralize Patrick Mahomes, but this unit, led by defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon, has the talent to be up for the challenge. Philly has allowed the fewest passing yards per game and lowest passer rating this season and can apply tremendous pressure on the quarterback. This postseason, the Eagles' defense is applying pressure 54% of the time and currently has 78 sacks on the year, which is the third-most all time. The Eagles' lone weakness may be their run defense, but that has also seen a bit of an uptick these playoffs. Knowing what the Eagles do best, it feels like they can exploit a couple of weaknesses that K.C. has, especially if Mahomes is playing at less than 100% due to that ankle injury that still looked to bother him in the AFC Championship. He also may have limited options in the passing game with a number of Chiefs receivers banged up.

Compensation approaches are limited by the accuracy with which the mismatches can be measured and ultimately corrected. To further suppress the residual spurs beyond the level achieved via calibration, it is possible to intermittently and randomly shuffle the order with which the channels sample the input. In doing so, the previously discussed modulation effects of the converted input signal due to the uncalibrated mismatches turn from a fixed pattern noise to pseudorandom. As a result, IL tones and undesired periodic patterns turn into pseudorandom noise-like content that adds with the converter quantization noise floor and leads to the disappearance or, at least, to spreading of the undesired spurious images and tones. In this case, the power associated with the IL spurious content adds to the power of the noise floor. Hence, while distortion improves, SNR can degrade by the amount of IL spurious power added to the noise. SNDR (SINAD) is essentially unchanged as it combines both distortion and noise and randomization; it simply moves the IL contribution from a component (distortion) to the other (noise). 041b061a72
